We are seeking a detail-oriented Application Specialist to manage and support Tax Management System at the Tax Authority of Oman.This is the office based role in Nortal Muscat.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line support for the Tax Application, addressing user inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring prompt and efficient issue resolution.
  • Create and manage tickets in the system following issue reproduction, and actively follow up to ensure timely resolution and closure. Maintain an organized and accurate support ticket log.
  • Implement, manage, and maintain Jira dashboards to track and visualize support tickets, providing insights and status updates to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the development and QA teams to identify and troubleshoot software bugs, track progress on fixes, and suggest improvements for the Tax Application.
  • Monitor the performance of the hosts running the Tax Application, ensuring their optimal functioning and availability. Address any performance-related issues promptly.
  • Document common issues, solutions, and troubleshooting steps for reference and future support needs. Ensure comprehensive knowledge-sharing within the team


Qualifications

  • Languages - Fluent in Arabic and English (both written and verbal communication).
  • Communication Skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction with end-users, developers, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaboration - Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve application-related issues.
  • IT background


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in government sector.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and bug-tracking systems.
  • Experience in application performance monitoring and system management.
