About The Role

As a Field Application Engineering Intern, you will support the technical backbone of our micromobility operations by working closely with hardware engineers, operations teams, and suppliers. This hands-on role provides exposure to diagnostics, component validation, issue tracking, and process standardization—key to ensuring the performance and maintainability of scooters and e-bikes in Bolt’s fleet.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Assist in diagnostics and root cause analysis of hardware, firmware, and IoT issues across vehicle models.
  • Support integration projects for new components and technologies, such as IoT modules or accessories.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of SOPs, repair guides, and onboarding documentation.
  • Help collect, analyze, and visualize fleet performance data to identify trends and prevent recurring failures.
  • Participate in FAE warehouse visits, aiding in field support and collecting feedback from local teams.
  • Collaborate with engineers to improve vehicle maintainability and implement feedback loops for continuous improvement.


About you:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Ideally in your 1st or 2nd year, looking to gain hands-on industry experience early in your studies.
  • Passionate about micromobility, hardware, and solving real-world technical challenges.
  • Eager to learn and comfortable stepping into a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive mindset with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
