Senior Software Engineer (PHP + React)

Barden is delighted to partner with a leading tech company in their search for a Senior Software Engineer to join their Dublin team on a 9-month contract. In this role, you’ll work on both backend and frontend systems, helping improve the tools and infrastructure that support a high-performing team. You’ll tackle challenges around legacy systems, and play a key role in ensuring seamless, scalable solutions.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

You’ll be focused on:

• Improving and maintaining both backend and frontend systems
• Enhancing agent tools and infrastructure to improve support team efficiency
• Refactoring and optimising legacy code, driving improvements across the stack
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to build impactful product features
• Ensuring the systems you work on are scalable, efficient, and user-friendly

ABOUT THE PERSON:

We’re looking for someone with:

• Proven experience as a full-stack engineer with expertise in PHP and React
• A passion for working with legacy code, refactoring and enhancing existing systems
• Strong debugging skills and a knack for problem-solving
• Comfort working with UX and design teams to bring a user-centric approach to your work
• Experience with performance tuning, optimising slow parts of the code
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
