Backend Engineer

Spike Technologies is a data technology company building cutting edge data extraction solutions across Physical Devices, Voice and Image in Health care.

As a Software Engineer in Spike AI Labs, you will build the systems at the forefront of GenAI and Voice recognition and synthesis for real-time agentic use-cases. You will be operational in optimizing the software for low latency while maintaining flexibility, accuracy, scalability and compliance in Health care workflows.

Core Responsibilities:

• Optimize our existing voice AI system, squeezing every bit in latency and scalability by implementing new OSS
• Improving interoperability across STT models, custom VAD components, filters, parallel LLM executions, TTS components, external communication systems
• Improve our existing voice and text data synchronization across multiple parallel flows
• Build LLM interfaces to balance price, accuracy and latency across open source and shared models
• Extend our internal tooling for observability and data inspection at scale
• Build seamless integrations into clinics’ workflows
• Improve our current software for fine tuning

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in software engineering
• Strong mathematical skills and passion for complex problem solving
• Ability to learn new concepts quickly
• Inner drive and ownership of the products you are building

Good to have (at least one)

• Experience with video or audio streaming, or low latency image processing software development
• Experience maintaining and scaling websockets
• Personal projects demonstrating your mathematical skills
• Contributions to open source software
