All About The Role

You’ll be part of the New Market Enablement team in the Grocery Retail domain, working with a cross functional team to implement new functionality across our Customer apps for our retail partners. The team is made up of Backend, Web, iOS and Quality engineers, all in our London office. You will have access to like-minded developers, with whom you can collaborate, discuss ideas and concepts, pair-with, challenge and be challenged. You will be encouraged to grow within the company, having opportunities to present research findings and suggestions. You will be able to try out new ideas and concepts, keep up to date with the latest technologies and be able to mentor others. You will be able to demonstrate your extensive knowledge to the iOS ecosystem, helping solve deeper technological and architectural issues which may arise.

These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

• Be an expert in the art of writing high quality, well tested code within a large engineering team, being able to understand the nuances of an exceptional codebase.
• Take leadership of tasks, mentor and pair with others, bring in new concepts and ideas, developing solid, reliable and well thought-out code.
• Keep to standards and processes that have been agreed by the team, as well as creating, contributing-to and helping shape those standards.
• Have a continuous improvement agenda whereby you can communicate with and learn from your colleagues, as well as using your learnings to make a valuable contribution to the wider team and the apps.
• Communicate the technical work of your team to other engineering teams.
• Take responsibility for supporting your changes all the way through to proving that they work well – and continue to work well – in production.
• Release new versions to the store (~2 weeks) and support those changes all the way through to operating successfully in customers’ hands.
• Contribute to the reviewing and merging of your team’s pull requests, after those automated tests have passed.
• Coming up with awesome ideas to implement in the apps!
  
  

What will you bring to the table?

• Swift / SwiftUI
• Integration, Unit and UI Tests
• Demonstrable experience in building stable software with high attention to detail
• Demonstrable experience of a deep knowledge of the iOS ecosystem
• Demonstrable experience of knowledge sharing and presenting
• Continuous integration
• Strong understanding of developing software in isolated and reusable components
• An understanding of code design for efficiency and readability
