Job Description

Join us as R&D Technology Solutions Intern at our international R&D headquarters in Utrecht, starting in September 2025. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to sustainability and nutritional excellence 🌍.

In this internship, you will carry out your own research project related to new ingredients, coffee, and process technologies, while also supporting general team activities—such as organizing tastings, assisting in pilot plant trials, and conducting data analysis. By joining our team, you’ll have the opportunity to pioneer solutions that align with our core objectives. Your innovative contributions will help us create a more sustainable and healthy future ☕.

Your Key Activities Will Be

• Experimentation & Optimization: Optimize existing Coffee & Ingredient processing methods by leading and conducting lab or pilot plant experiments.
• Technology Implementation: Support the implementation of new technologies and equipment in the pilot line.
• Data Analysis: Analyse data to identify trends and propose innovative solutions 📊
• Knowledge Capture: Contribute to knowledge sharing by developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Best Practices for process technology improvements.

Qualifications

Are you bursting with fresh ideas and a hunger for learning? We want you! 🌟

Here's What We're Looking For

• Academic Program: You are enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program for the entirety of the internship, preferably in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry
• Skillset: You have strong MS Office skills and are fluent in both spoken and written English. Having prior hands-on experience with food research activities is always a plus 💡
• Personal traits: You bring a structured approach, a driven and energetic personality, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Commitment: You're available for at least 5 months, preferably from September 2025 to February 2026.
• Availability: You can commit to 5 days per week, including 4 days on-site and 1 day remote, striking the right balance between teamwork and focus.

• Your internship must be part of your study curriculum and contribute to your academic progress.
• Your educational institution is willing to sign a collaboration agreement with JDE Peet’s. For internships within our Research departments, this includes an NDA agreement
• You are either:
• An EU(EEA) student residing in the Netherlands during the internship
• A Non-EU(EEA) student who is enrolled at and living in the Netherlands for the duration of the internship. 📝
