Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will support Program Managers and Project Managers by implementing and improving project standards and ensuring consistent project execution across global, multidisciplinary teams. Your focus will be on aligning planning, scope, and resource management practices, enhancing risk management, and delivering high-level management information to influence strategic decision-making.
Key responsibilities:
- Implement and continuously improve project and program standards and processes (planning, change management, financial control, reporting, risk management, and quality).
- Challenge scope, timing, and budget constraints to optimize performance and outcomes.
- Support and facilitate program and project execution by creating structure, rhythm, and control mechanisms.
- Prepare, organize, and facilitate governance meetings, team sessions, and lessons learned workshops, turning insights into actionable improvements.
- Set up and manage effective communication platforms to ensure alignment between IT and business stakeholders.
- Drive timely escalation of risks and issues, and support mitigation planning with stakeholders.
- Deliver high-quality management reporting and dashboarding to senior leadership.
- Act as a sparring partner to project leads, contributing to resource management and prioritization discussions.
- Ensure consistent application of PMO best practices and project health monitoring.
- Switch comfortably between operational execution and tactical support.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., business administration, project management, or engineering).
- 8+ years of experience in a PMO or project coordination role, preferably within large, complex organizations or programs.
- Proven experience in implementing improvements to project management practices and governance frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of PMO tools and practices, including risk management, planning, scope and resource control.
- Experience with business continuity or large-scale transformation programs is a plus.
- Comfortable bridging IT and business domains; able to translate between the two.
- Skilled in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, Teams, and preferably data visualization tools like Spotfire.
