Job Overview

Following on from the recent successful hire of the recent Scientist position, my client is now looking for a curious and ambitions Associate Scientist (Technician equivalent) to join their expanding team. This is a brand new position, not a backfill or promotion rehire, so a great opportunity for the right candidate to join the business on their own merits and be part of a new and dynamically expanding team!

What is most unique about this role, is that whilst it is an entry level lab position, the development opportunity in being team member number 3, is far greater than the equivalent lab based position at a CRO with a truly exciting developing pipeline, team expansion and potential for career development and growth where you can be part of exciting science focused in Gamma Delta (γδ) therapeutics with an opportunity for immediate start for the right candidate.

My client is currently in stealth mode so you will not find information about the company or wider team online and we are working exclusively with them on this role. You will have to sign a CDA in order to interview for this role, in order to fully understand the IP and how you can add value to the team so please only apply if you are willing to be part of a very dynamic business looking for the best to work on some truly innovative and exciting Gamma Delta pipeline!

The purpose of this role is to form the foundation of a team responsible for the generation of data that advances the biologic properties and functional activity of my clients innate immune cell engaging multiprotein complexes.

Responsibilities

  • Experimental planning, collaborating with scientists, executing and aiding in the analyse of experiments.
  • Evaluate product candidates through cell-based and immunological assays.
  • Contribute to lab organisation, protocol development, and workplace maintenance.
  • Analyse data and create precise documentation (ELNs, reports) with effective visual and oral presentations for research meetings.
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors and project leads.

Education/Experience

  • BSc or higher in relevant scientific field with minimum 1 year lab experience, industry experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in laboratory techniques, cell culture, and cell-based functional assays.
  • Background or experience in immunology, NK, T-Cell or Gamma Delta (γδ) (or similar) is advantageous.
  • Experience with primary human cell culture is a bonus.

Requirements

  • Adaptable and solutions-oriented professional who can meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and under supervision (especially as this is a new team, for reference there are 10 others working in the lab on other projects).
  • Strong commitment to research quality, detailed record-keeping, and data integrity.
  • Collaborative team player who communicates effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Thrives in structured environments and adheres to company procedures.
  • Proficient with scientific software and IT systems.
  • Willing to work flexible hours when needed for tissue/cell availability or team requirements.

Whilst a lot of these requirements might sound generic or non-specific, my client is looking for a great cultural fit for their team, this means someone who is excited to do the work, curious scientifically and teachable. Even at the junior level this means finding someone who can be trusted to do the work, take on advise and has a good understanding of their own capabilities so that they can contribute to life changing science from day one!

Other:

  • This is a lab based role.
  • There are multiple career growth and expansion opportunities based on successful completion of work and personal contribution.
  • This is a fulltime, cull contract 40 hour a week position from day one.
  • Salary, bonus, stocks and other benefits will be applicable for this role from day one.
  • This role will report to: Senior Scientist/Director Department: Research.

If you do not meet all of the above skills, or even if you a PhD level, but willing to work fulltime onsite in the lab at entry level, please reach out to me! My client is looking for the best, for Rockstars, that may be unconventional and they are open to those who believe they can demonstrate the work and commitment required to deliver world changing therapeutics at the bleeding edge of science!
