Head of Artificial Intelligence

About the Role:

Abu Dhabi Airports is on a mission to lead innovation in aviation, and Artificial Intelligence is a core enabler of our transformation. We are seeking a visionary Head of AI to shape and lead our AI strategy, delivering scalable and value-generating solutions that align with our digital and business objectives. This is a strategic leadership role with hands-on impact. You will lead the design and implementation of advanced AI/ML solutions, influence the enterprise architecture, and partner with key business and technology stakeholders to drive data excellence, customer experience, and operational optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end AI strategy and roadmap across Abu Dhabi Airports.
• Architect and scale machine learning platforms and infrastructure.
• Build, mentor, and lead AI/ML teams, including MLEs, MLOps, and data engineering functions.
• Deliver scalable AI solutions that support predictions, search, recommendations, and growth strategies.
• Define and enforce AI best practices, model lifecycle, and governance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Oversee AI workshops, POCs, and pilot implementations.
• Implement ethical AI and responsible governance practices.
• Guide technology decisions related to AI platforms, deployment pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
• Participate in product development discussions and provide AI insights into future innovations.

What You Bring:

• A degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience, including 5+ years designing and deploying AI/ML models at scale.
• Expertise in cloud AI services (AWS, Azure, GCP), data platforms, MLOps, and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of AI/ML frameworks, deep learning, and model deployment.
• Leadership experience in building and managing high-performing AI teams.
• Track record of delivering successful AI projects with measurable business impact.
• Awareness of trends in ethical AI, safe AI, and fair AI practices.
• Experience in agile, DevSecOps, and full-stack SaaS environments is a plus.
