Back End Developer

Role: AWS Backend Software Developer

Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Remote or on-site at our Wichita office

Pay Rate: 70-77/hr

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years’ experience implementing large scale cloud-native applications
• 5+ years’ experience with JavaScript and TypeScript (JS/TS) programming
• 5+ years’ experience with Node.js framework
• 5+ years’ experience with AWS Cloud services: API Gateway, Lambda, IAM, CloudFormation, Dynamo DB, EventBridge
• 5+ years’ experience with Git source control system
• 5+ years’ experience with modern Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• 5+ years’ experience with Unit and Integration Testing
• 3+ years’ experience with REST API creation and consumption

Expectations:

• Full-time: Average of 40 hours per week
• Preferred working hours of 8a to 5p US Central Time (CT)
• Requires availability for project-related meetings scheduled during this 8a to 5p CT time window
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Proactive notification to a manager of upcoming unavailability

Job Description:

Insight Global is seeking an AWS Backend Software Developer with extensive experience in Javascript, Node.js and AWS for our client in Wichita, KS. This candidate will be implementing large scale serverless applications using the Node.js framework written in JavaScript and TypeScript. They will be developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to automate the testing and deployment process. They should have strong knowledge of AWS cloud services and proficiency using Git source control. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with unit and integration testing to ensure application reliability. Lastly, the candidate will be designing and developing REST APIs for application integration. This position is looking to start ASAP and is a 6 month contract with potential conversion/extension opportunities.
