One of our companies is currently looking for a Financial Controller in Brussels.

As a Financial Controller, you will support the CFO in managing the organization's financial operations, with a focus on ensuring financial transparency and strategic alignment. You will collaborate closely with project managers, overseeing the financial control of projects, and drive a culture of financial discipline. In this role, you will be key in supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes, as well as monitoring costs and ensuring compliance with regulations. Accountabilities:

• Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting, providing valuable insights to optimize financial decisions
• Oversee project financials by collaborating with business leaders and project managers, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow
• Maintain compliance with Belgian accounting standards and tax regulations, ensuring transparency and accuracy in financial reporting
• Implement and enhance internal control systems, dashboards, and processes to safeguard company assets and improve operational efficiency
• Manage external audits and ensure all documentation is in compliance with relevant laws and internal standards
• Monitor costs and cash flow, ensuring effective allocation of resources aligned with organizational goals
  
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA or similar are a plus
• At least 5 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or controlling, ideally within mission-driven or consulting organizations
• Strong understanding of Belgian accounting standards and tax regulations
• Proficiency in Odoo, MS Excel, and data analytics tools
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders
• Fluency in French, Dutch, and English to effectively collaborate in a bilingual team and with external stakeholders
