Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team and contribute to the testing of a C++ embedded application for one of our key customers. This position is based in Luxembourg, a multicultural hub in the heart of Europe.

As a SDET, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our software testing efficiency. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing new bindings in Python to integrate our software testing framework with the software under test. Your work will support the testing team, enabling them to focus on writing and executing test cases without worrying about the underlying code maintenance. 

You will be an integral part of a committed team of experienced, friendly, and talented colleagues, who are passionate about software development and support each other perfectly. You will have the chance to work with innovative technologies and take a leading role in shaping the satellite communications of the future.

What we are looking for

• Testing Mindset: A strong inclination to uncover bugs and improve software quality.
• Experience: Minimum five years in software engineering, with a focus on testing.
• Technical Skills:
• Software Design Patterns: Solid understanding of software design patterns and their application.
• Automated Testing: Proficiency in automated testing and scripting. Experience with frameworks like Robot or Cucumber is a plus.
• Data Networks: Knowledge of TCP/IP and experience with Wireshark for troubleshooting is advantageous.
• Linux: Proficiency in Linux for troubleshooting and log collection. Basic shell scripting skills are a plus.
• Databases: Experience with SQL, NoSQL, or TSDB for troubleshooting purposes.
• Python: Strong experience with Python programming.
• Web Services: Familiarity with REST, SOAP, and XML.
• Version Control: Experience with GIT.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to ensuring software quality.
• Comfortable working in an Agile environment.
• You are expected to relocate to Luxembourg, as will be working either at the office, at the client location, or from home. 
• Preference is given to candidates holding a valid work permit for Luxembourg.
