The opportunity: Asset Management Risk Manager – Permanent contract

What you will do:
Reporting to the HSBC Asset Management (AM) Chief Risk Officer & Conducting officer, the role holder will be responsible for managing several elements of the AM risk management activities:
- Assist in the implementation and oversight of the risk management framework for the UCITS Funds (market, liquidity, counterparty, credit and sustainability risks, amongst others).
- Review and analyse market, liquidity, counterparty, credit and sustainability risks reports on a regular basis.
- Escalate issues/concerns to senior management and report on such results.
- Ensure that all exceptions are handled in time and efficiently.
- Review and update the Risk Management processes and policy,
- Provide oversight of the Investment Advisers local risk teams in relation to the regular risk reporting, including validation of the investment advisers’ compliance with the risk policy and Luxembourg and Irish regulations applicable to UCITS Funds.
- Identify and manage risks introduced through change, including new types of investments, products and new projects/initiatives.
- Assess the eligibility of instruments in which the funds invest in
- Provide support to the HIFL Conducting Officers in their day-to-day management:
You should apply if you have:
- Good technical skills in financial risk management (e.g. VaR models, VaR back testing, stress testing, leverage, liquidity risk measures) and financial instruments
- Knowledge of the Luxembourg and Irish fund industry including the UCITS environment, risk regulatory requirements and the obligations of a Luxembourg Management Company
- Strong analytical, communication and relationship skills
- Knowledge of Tableau and/or SQL
- Good communicator (oral and written) especially of technical issues to non-specialists
- Well organized and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Fluency in English, both written and oral.
