Job Title: Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
Location: Eindhoven, Netherlands
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with 6–8 years of experience to join our team in Eindhoven. As an SRE, you will be responsible for the reliability, availability, and performance of critical systems and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable systems, build automation tools, and implement observability solutions while ensuring security and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement strategies to maintain high system availability and performance.
- Define and monitor SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets.
- Drive reliability-focused initiatives and enhancements.
- Respond to outages and production incidents with urgency and professionalism.
- Lead blameless post-mortems and implement preventive measures.
- Create detailed runbooks and automate recovery processes.
- Build and manage infrastructure using Terraform or equivalent tools.
- Ensure infrastructure is fully reproducible, version-controlled, and secure.
- Implement observability solutions (preferably with Splunk or similar tools).
- Set up alerts, dashboards, and monitoring frameworks to ensure system health.
- Automate routine operational tasks such as deployments, scaling, backups, and failovers.
- Develop internal tools to enhance developer workflows and deployment processes.
- Work closely with development and operations teams to design supportable and scalable systems.
- Advocate best practices in CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD.
Essential Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Ruby.
- Strong experience with GCP and Azure. Familiarity with cloud-native services, networking, and security practices.
- Deep understanding of Linux/Unix systems and Windows environments.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proven experience in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of modern observability stacks and logging tools.
- Awareness of access control, secrets management, audit logging, and system hardening.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills. Comfortable mentoring junior engineers, handling incident pressure, and participating in blameless retrospectives.
- Proactive, analytical, and solutions-oriented.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in a high-availability, large-scale environment.
- Familiarity with performance tuning, system internals, and service scalability.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum environments and DevOps culture.
