Data Analyst - SQL

OGC is a boutique research and consulting agency specializing in data-driven strategy, market research and analytics, and Customer Experience (CX) program design and optimization. We work with some of the world’s largest organizations across a variety of industries, including Telecommunications, Financial Services, Specialty Retail, Hospitality and Software, helping them to gain a deep understanding of their customers, develop actionable insights, and improve business processes.

We are seeking a full-time Data Analyst - SQL to join our team. This role provides a great opportunity for a curious, self-starter to become part of a high-performing team, and implement a hands-on approach to data exploration, manipulation, and reporting.

About the role

You will work closely with one of our key clients, supporting data query requests from various business unit leaders across the organization. This includes identifying available data sources, understanding where and how the data is stored, writing SQL queries to retrieve the necessary information, and exporting and refining datasets to meet specific business needs. This is a full-time, remote role.

Responsibilities:

• Communicating with different business stakeholders to collect requirements
• Communication with different technical leads and gathering existing data
• Handling multiple data environments
• Maintaining and developing queries and procedures to ensure the integrity and performance of projects
• Pulling, combining, and cleaning data from multiple sources
• Creating ad-hoc reports utilizing various data sources
• Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technologies
• Manipulating and curating different data formats and structures
• Crafting and executing SQL queries based on business requirements

Requirements:

• BA/BS from a top university with outstanding grades, preferably in Computer or Information Science, Statistics, Math, or a related field. MA/MSc –An advantage
• 2 years of experience writing complex SQL scripts (stored procedures, functions, views, etc.)
• Must have demonstrated experience working with Teradata SQL
• Experience with the following platforms – An advantage:
• Trino SQL platform
• AWS S3 Cloud Storage platform
• MinIO/Kubernetes
• SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, and MongoDB
• Strong attention to detail
• Flexibility working with different data formats
• Exceptional documentation skills and practices
• Experience in implementing operational automation scripts – An advantage
• Tableau or any BI tools (Power BI, Qlik, etc.)- An advantage
• Exposure to different types of data e.g market research, telecommunications - An advantage
• CX experience – An advantage
• Salesforce experience - An advantage
