Senior Java Engineer

As the business continues to scale, they're now looking for a Senior Java Engineer to take a key role in shaping the evolution of their core platform. This is the perfect opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer with previous exposure to design and architecture to step up and take on a more senior role in a scaling software engineering team.

You'll be joining a small but high-performing, collaborative engineering team, contributing not just code but also technical direction, architectural leadership, and mentorship to less experienced software engineers within the team. This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, scale-up environment and wants to make a meaningful impact on both the technology and the team around them.

• Take ownership of a key function within the company's core software platform, designing and architecting scalable, cloud-native Java applications.

• Lead by example in adopting best practices and modern development approaches.

• Collaborate across disciplines, particularly with product teams and hardware engineering, to deliver robust and secure solutions.

• Mentor and coach junior engineers, helping to grow capability across the team.

• Stay curious and forward-thinking-continuously evaluate and improve the tech stack and development processes.
  
  

• Deep hands-on experience with Java (latest versions) and Spring Boot in a microservices environment.

• Strong background in AWS (Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, S3, etc.) and cloud-native architecture.

• A track record of building and scaling complex distributed systems.

• Leadership experience with a passion for developing others and promoting engineering excellence.

• A proactive mindset, strong problem-solving ability, and a love for clean, modern software development.
  
  

• Up to £75,000 with a competitive benefits package which includes 10% bonus and share options.
