Cloud Engineer – Remote

The role:

As a Cloud Engineer, you will be one of the main gears of the deployment engine within our team. Solutions, projects, deep troubleshooting along with investigations will be your focus areas. If you are an engineer looking to learn and grow within cloud services, processes and methodologies then we have a place for you in our team.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Honor and practice Well Architected Framework across all tasks and responsibilities
• Research workloads for migrating it them to the cloud, with minimal interruption and impact
• Participate in cloud migration projects
• Assist in re-platform and re-factor of current cloud infrastructure
• Assist IT departments and teams with their cloud infrastructure
• Participate in evaluation of deployments and creating a risk register of cloud deployments and resources
• Participate in definition of fair use policies and best practices for cloud services while complying to the company’s standards
• Drive requests for new technologies, services or solutions required from internal customers
• Deploy, document and orchestrate Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) and Solutions for internal customers in compliance with the company’s framework
• Follow and provide training regarding new and current technologies and services used
• Have an understanding of cloud costs

Main requirements:

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a similar discipline
• 2 years of cloud services experience preferably on AWS cloud
• Moderate knowledge in solution design and deployment projects
• Understanding Well Architected Framework
• Methodical troubleshooting of issues
• Experience in AWS technologies, services and ecosystem
• Organisation, Documentation and Time Management skills

The following will be considered an advantage:

• Experience in Linux OS and Network
• Exposure to scripting languages such as Python or Go
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools, preferably HCL
• Knowledge of Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
• Experience with versioning tools such as git
