I am currently partnering with an exciting Health & Wellbeing company at the forefront of the Fitness and Welfare industry that are seeking a Head of Data to help deliver an ambitious roadmap of new data products and services

As Head of Data, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the data vision across the organisation. You’ll lead a cross-functional team of data engineers, analysts, and scientists, working closely with product, engineering, and executive leadership. Your mission: to make data a strategic asset that drives innovation, supports smarter decision-making, and delivers measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities for the Head of Data:

  • Develop and lead the company-wide data strategy, aligned with our overall business goals.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing data team, fostering a culture of experimentation and excellence.
  • Oversee the architecture and development of our data infrastructure, pipelines, and governance frameworks.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to embed data capabilities into our products and services.
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into data initiatives and actionable insights.
  • Promote data literacy and usage across departments through training, tools, and reporting frameworks.
  • Evaluate and implement modern data tools, technologies, and methodologies to keep us at the forefront.

What the Successful Head of Data will need:

  • Proven experience in a senior data leadership role, preferably in a tech-driven or software development environment.
  • Strong technical background—comfortable discussing data architecture, modelling, and engineering best practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern data stack components (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • Deep understanding of data privacy laws and ethical data use, especially in the EU.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and scale high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinker with strong communication skills—able to translate complex data topics into business value.
  • Passionate about fostering a data-driven culture.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and equity options
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid setup
  • 25+ vacation days and generous holiday policy
  • Learning & development budget
  • A collaborative, no-ego culture in a creative and diverse team
  • Beautiful canal-side office in the heart of Amsterdam
