Product Owner (Marketplace, Seller Experience Team)
The Product Owner – Seller Platforms will be responsible for delivering high-impact product functionality across several foundational components of the seller ecosystem at eMAG. This includes the seller-facing mobile app, the public and partner-facing Seller API, internal CRM tools used to manage seller interactions, and the eMAG MyAcademy platform, which supports seller education and self-service learning.
This role will sit at the core of how sellers interact with the platform — whether it's accessing performance data on mobile, integrating via APIs, receiving tailored communication through CRM workflows, or finding help through structured educational content. The Product Owner will work closely with engineering, UX, commercial teams, and seller support to define requirements, prioritize backlogs, and ensure timely delivery of features that are technically sound, scalable, and aligned with the broader Seller Experience strategy.
Ideal candidates are product professionals who are comfortable working across technical, content, and user-facing domains, and who thrive in collaborative, data-informed environments.

Product Owner (Marketplace, Seller Experience Team)

What You’ll Have To Do
- Own the product backlog for the Seller Mobile App, ensuring features are prioritized based on impact, feasibility, and alignment with seller needs and business goals.
- Collaborate with mobile engineering and UX teams to define and deliver a consistent, intuitive, and performant mobile experience for sellers.
- Drive the evolution of the Seller API, partnering with engineering to document, prioritize, and deliver endpoints that support seller automation, integrations, and platform scalability.
- Act as the business counterpart for CRM tools used in seller communication and lifecycle management; define requirements for campaigns, segmentation, and automation capabilities.
- Manage product development for eMAG MyAcademy, working with content, UX, and support teams to deliver structured and accessible learning experiences for sellers.
- Write detailed user stories and acceptance criteria, and ensure stories are ready for development during backlog grooming and sprint planning.
- Work closely with developers to clarify requirements, address blockers, and iterate on delivery.
- Coordinate with stakeholders (Seller Support, Commercial, Marketing, Legal, etc.) to gather input and align on business needs.
- Track feature usage, gather feedback, and continuously iterate based on data and qualitative insights.
- Ensure clear documentation, communication, and alignment across all stages of product delivery.
- Reports directly to the Product Manager, who oversees strategic direction across seller-facing platforms including mobile, API, CRM, and MyAcademy.
- Collaborates closely with engineering leads, UX designers, and cross-functional stakeholders such as Commercial, Seller Support, and Content & Training teams.
- Works in tandem with the Data Analyst – Seller Experience to ensure backlog prioritization and product evolution are data-informed.
- Participates in team-level rituals (e.g., sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming) and contributes to the execution of the Seller Experience division’s annual OKRs and monthly reviews.
- The Product Owner – Seller Platforms will be evaluated based on delivery quality, platform adoption, and contribution to product outcomes across multiple domains within the Seller Experience division. Key success indicators include:
- Timely delivery of sprint commitments and roadmap features with minimal rework or scope creep.
- Clarity and completeness of user stories, acceptance criteria, and documentation.
- Stakeholder alignment and visibility into backlog priorities and delivery status.
- Seller Mobile App: Feature adoption rate, app retention, frequency of active sessions, user satisfaction (e.g., store ratings, in-app feedback).
- Seller API: API usage growth (volume of requests, integrations per seller), developer satisfaction, and internal stakeholder feedback on new endpoints.
- CRM Tools: Delivery of automated flows, successful segmentation setups, and reduction in manual seller communication overhead.
- MyAcademy: Seller engagement with educational content, completion rates for tutorials or guides, and feedback from support/comms teams.
- Positive impact on Seller Experience OKRs through product enhancements.
- Increased self-service capability across platforms (mobile, CRM, MyAcademy).
- Reduction in support tickets or escalations tied to the domains owned.
- Internal feedback on cross-functional collaboration, clarity of communication, and responsiveness to issues or questions.
- Contribution to documentation, stakeholder presentations, or alignment workshops.
- Experience and Background
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role (e.g., Technical Product Manager, Business Analyst with product ownership responsibilities).
- Proven experience managing the full lifecycle of digital product delivery in an Agile environment, from discovery to release and iteration.
- Experience working on mobile applications with cross-platform coordination between iOS and Android teams.
- Experience delivering and maintaining APIs used by internal or external development teams.
- Exposure to CRM systems used for managing customer or partner communications and lifecycle.
- Familiarity with learning platforms or content-driven tools that support self-service or onboarding.
- Understanding of the B2B or marketplace ecosystem, preferably in eCommerce or platform-based businesses.
- Comfortable writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and maintaining a well-groomed product backlog.
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, system integrations, and developer workflows (you don’t need to code, but you must speak the language).
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams on system design, API specs, and platform scalability topics.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or custom-built platforms) and how they support customer operations.
- Understanding of mobile-first product principles and collaboration with iOS/Android engineering teams.
- Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Figma, and Postman.
- Strong prioritization skills: ability to distinguish between urgent, valuable, and nice-to-have.
- Structured thinker with a clear approach to breaking down complex systems into MVPs and iterative deliverables.
- Analytical mindset, able to use data (with support from analysts) to inform backlog and feature prioritization.
- Experience supporting UX research or stakeholder interviews to validate product assumptions.
- Comfortable in fast-moving, multi-stakeholder environments where clarity, alignment, and documentation are essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in Romanian and English.
- Experience working closely with engineering, UX/design, and operational teams.
- Proactive in facilitating rituals like backlog refinement, sprint planning, and daily standups.
- Able to manage expectations across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Exposure to educational or onboarding platforms, especially for self-service users.
- Experience working with user segmentation, permissioning, or personalization features.
- Familiarity with API documentation standards and platforms (Swagger, Stoplight, etc.).
- Background in seller- or vendor-facing tools in a marketplace or SaaS context.
