Senior Quantitative Analyst - Power & Gas Markets


Location: Geneva, Switzerland


Our client is looking for an experienced Quantitative Analyst to join their dynamic energy trading and analytics team in Geneva, Switzerland. This role combines market expertise with quantitative skills to drive power and gas market strategies forward.

The Role

As a Senior Quantitative Analyst, you will apply sophisticated quantitative methods to model European power and gas markets, create price scenarios, and develop actionable insights for trading desks and clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Model fundamental power and gas markets using proprietary systems and data analysis
  • Design and integrate new datasets to enhance trading strategies
  • Support trading desks in utilizing data for production systems
  • Develop and improve analytical products and methodologies
  • Manage data sourcing projects from acquisition through production
  • Communicate insights to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with research and consulting teams


Required Qualifications

  • Degree in a technical or quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science, or Economics)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quantitative analysis, data engineering, or similar roles
  • Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with data analysis packages
  • Understanding of European energy markets and trading dynamics
  • Experience with financial data platforms is advantageous
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating in a global team environment
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills in English; German proficiency is a plus
