We seek an enthusiastic and skilled Swim Teacher to join our Physical Education team. This role is central to delivering a dynamic aquatics program that promotes fitness, water safety, skill development, and sportsmanship. Working within our state-of-the-art sports facilities and alongside professional industry partners, the Swim Teacher will play a key role in developing students’ confidence and capability in the water—whether for recreation, fitness, or competitive swimming.

Key Areas of Focus:

• Swimming Instruction – Deliver engaging lessons across age groups and abilities, from beginners to advanced swimmers
• Aquatic Fitness & Conditioning – Emphasise endurance, stroke efficiency, and injury prevention
• Competitive & Recreational Swimming – Prepare students for swim meets and inter-school competitions
• Teamwork & Sportsmanship – Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages resilience and respect
• Health & Well-being – Support overall physical development through structured training and modern techniques
  
  

Candidates with additional expertise in broader physical education areas such as athletics, fitness, or movement training are encouraged to highlight their strengths.

The Swim Teacher will also contribute to inter-school events, extracurricular swim squads, and cross-disciplinary initiatives aimed at enriching the student experience.

Skills

Person specifications:

• Hold a BEd or Bachelors degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent in PE specialising in Swimming
• A Master's degree or equivalent qualification is preferred
• Have proven experience of teaching Swimming aross all stages
• Have a willingness to collaborate and share their outstanding practice
• Have a growth mindset, whereby they are reflective and solution focussed
• Be creative and enthusiastic in their approach to teaching
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with colleagues, students and parents
• Have a proven track record of providing outstanding learning & teaching
• Have aspiration to work in a world-class school with real prospects for enhancing their career
• Be willing to make a positive contribution to our school community and culture through active engagement in our extra-curricular programme and community-based events
