We’re on the lookout for a Software Engineer (Kotlin Backend) ready to take on large-scale challenges in one of the world’s biggest social media platforms — a place where petabytes of data flow through the system every single day.

You'll join an R&D team that thrives on innovation, engineering excellence, and cutting-edge technologies. Together, you’ll design and enhance the infrastructure behind mission-critical data systems used by hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

💼 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build and enhance scalable, high-performance data processing platforms using Kotlin and big data tools.
  • Work on fine-grained access control systems for large-scale platforms using Spark, Flink, PyTorch, Ray, and other ML/AI frameworks.
  • Optimize and customize open-source tools like Apache Spark to handle challenges at extreme scale.
  • Design, build, and maintain cloud-native pipelines for business-critical data.
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate, and streamline complex data systems.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver technical solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Conduct code reviews, contribute to standards and best practices, and mentor peers.

🧠 What You Bring

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with solid Java and Kotlin skills.
  • 3+ years building and maintaining scalable big data platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Spark, Hadoop, Flink, and data formats like Parquet/ORC.
  • Deep understanding of OOP, software architecture, and system design.
  • Comfortable documenting, communicating, and presenting complex ideas clearly.
  • Passionate about streamlining systems and solving complex technical problems.
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese.
  • Location: Brazil only — this is a fully remote role.

🌟 Nice to Have

  • Experience with AWS and Kubernetes (K8s).
  • Contributions to open-source communities or experience customizing OSS tools.
