As an Azure Cloud engineer, you and a designated team in Amsterdam & Utrecht are responsible for a subset of Cloud infrastructure-related topics that play a role within the Benelux region. Together they deliver the infrastructure that 35 DevOps teams use to run their software.

The components that make up the platform are divided over 4 Platform teams:

-Kubernetes (AKS), Networking (Azure, Fortigate, Cloudflare and CI/CD (Azure DevOps, Artifactory)

-Databases (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Oracle), Kafka, Storage and their Data Platform.

-IAM (Keycloak), Security tooling (Sentinal, Defender, Rapid7) and IGA

-Monitoring and Logging (DataDog)

What the Platform teams have in common:

-Primarily work in Microsoft Azure.

-The development and management work is done according to the Infrastructure as Code principles (a lot in Terraform, but also Ansible).

-They help the development teams to onboard new applications in their landscape, and to get the most out of the existing applications.

-They are good at troubleshooting technically complex problems.

In their solutions they incorporate the latest best practices in the field of security and compliance. Each team has its own product owner who manages the expectations of the stakeholders, which they as a team then translate into technical solutions. It’s ensured that their platform is available 24/7 where necessary. You work in a team of several experienced Cloud Engineers who are happy to share their knowledge with you and involve you in the latest developments. There is a lot of coordination and collaboration in which they mainly work as one team and the team lead Cloud is part of the team. In addition to your direct colleagues, you also have contact with other teams and departments. The department, where you work, now consists of more than 150 colleagues. They always listen to what you have to say. The more perspectives and opinions they hear, the better they all become. You are an enterprising and responsible person who does not shy away from a challenge and can handle freedom well. In addition, you have strong analytical skills and you know how to correctly identify customer demand and explain technical solutions in a simple way to non-IT people. The Azure Cloud Engineer qualifications:

-Minimum BSc. work and thinking level;

-Experience with cloud technology, preferably Azure;

-In-depth knowledge of 1 or more of the above subjects;

-Experience with Infrastructure as Code and scripting;

-The desire to automate and simplify as much as possible;

-Experience with working with development teams;

-Good command of Dutch and English.

The Azure Cloud Engineer offered:

-A salary between €4,600 and €7,500 gross based on 40 hours, based on your knowledge and experience;

-A bonus scheme of 5%;

-Standard 25 vacation days and 8% vacation pay;

-Collective labor agreement, a budget of your choice for extra salary or vacation days (4.5 days per year);
