Role Purpose

Lead and scale the Platform Architecture and Engineering function, ensuring excellence in engineering practices, platform resilience, and technical strategy. This role demands strong architectural expertise in scalable cloud systems, hands-on leadership, and experience in delivering regulated, high-volume trading and financial applications.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

• Lead cross-functional engineering squads across backend, frontend, DevOps, and platform.
• Partner with Product, Operations, and Compliance teams to align engineering delivery with business objectives.
• Drive the department’s technology vision and execution roadmap in sync with company strategy.
• Champion high-performance engineering culture and mentor technical leaders.

Architecture & Delivery

• Architect secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Own end-to-end delivery pipelines, enforcing CI/CD, SRE, and infrastructure as code practices.
• Ensure uptime, scalability, and system observability standards (>99.99%) are met.
• Guide architectural decision-making with focus on FX trading systems, real-time data, and microservices.

Process & Standards

• Define coding standards and engineering best practices across all teams.
• Lead agile engineering processes, release cadences, and sprint management.
• Build and measure KPIs for engineering productivity and system performance.

Compliance & Security

• Ensure platform is designed with regulatory, security, and audit standards in mind.
• Collaborate with InfoSec to drive secure development, monitoring, and incident response protocols.
• Oversee vendor compliance and manage third-party development/SRE partnerships.

Team & Growth

• Scale engineering teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
• Drive hiring, onboarding, performance management, and technical growth frameworks.
• Foster a collaborative and innovation-focused engineering environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years in software engineering, with at least 5 in leadership roles.
• Prior experience delivering financial systems or trading platforms (FX, crypto, or traditional).
• Experience managing distributed teams and external development partners.
• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline (MBA a plus).
• Proven record delivering scalable architectures, cloud migration, and resilient infrastructure.
