Job Description

Experience working with Serverless framework, Lambdas, Terraform, Docker, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB

· Knowledge of databases, queries, data analysis

· Knowledge of frameworks and tools including Jira, Confluence etc.

· Knowledge of programming languages including Java/Typescript

· Knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design and GUI development techniques

· Experience working within a distributed computing environment and Linux/Unix and Windows development environments

· Experience working with databases

· Knowledge of frameworks and tools including Jira

· Experience with microservice and on-prem/AWS environments is useful

Job Responsibilities

Design software tools and applications to meet customer requirements

· Collaborates with users to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software tools and applications

· Translates requirements into technical specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility

· Estimates level of effort, timelines and resource requirements

· Performs unit tests

· Participates in code reviews

· Oversees progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial design

· Consistently delivers quality, on time, deliverables with limited technical debt and comprehensive documentation and often develops and implements novel approaches.

· Raises issues/concerns and anticipates obstacles and thinks ahead to provide alternative solutions and identifies tradeoffs.

· Prioritizes and plans to meet established outcomes. Alters plans based on constraints; escalates when necessary. Prepares project estimates, and assists in developing tasks, timelines and providing mentorship and coaching to junior members of the team.

· Takes ownership of decisions and solving problems and ensures that they are consistent with the organizational priorities.

· Seeks continuous improvement and growth and often identifies and proposes new solutions and/or courses of action to improve efficiency and productivity.

Perform software testing and deployment

· Works with internal users to perform user acceptance testing; reviews results

· Documents and fixes bugs

· Works within schedules to release and roll out software to broader customer base

· Monitors and resolves software related problems

Provide software application and tools support to users

· Applies patches, updates and bug fixes

· Triages, assigns and prioritizes reported problems

· Tracks, monitors and closes bugs and issues

Department/Project Description

The software developer is responsible for the custom development of internal software tools and applications. The incumbent is responsible for preliminary analysis, requirements definition, system design, development, integration and testing the software. He/she tests and deploys and documents the software and provides user support on new and existing software tools and applications.
