Graphic Design Intern

For our upcoming European digital marketplace focused on Sustainable products and services, we are looking for a Graphic Designer Intern, who is passionate about sustainability to reinforce our existing team.

This position is unpaid.

Preferred length of internship: 6 months or longer on a part-time basis (20 hours/week), and starting immediately. It is 100% remote. We favour University-mandatory internships.

Your tasks

• Develop and deliver innovative Graphic design for brand projects and campaigns across the digital (website, social media, email marketing…) and printed spectrum (brochures, guides….). That includes everything from briefing to execution and delivery. 
• Create a consistent brand and customer journey from digital to print. Further, develop our existing branding and be the guardian across all channels. 
• Translate briefs into creative and commercial design outcomes, with emphasis on detailed design and production.
• Collaborate with the rest of the marketing and communications team and the wider business on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Support other members of the team with experience and skill.
• Research design, cultural trends, tools, and emerging technologies, and educate internal teams and stakeholders.

Your profile

• Fluency in English, written and spoken, is a must. Other languages are welcome.
• Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Design, Advertising, Communication Design. Experience and skill in typography and creative graphic design in agency or retail settings.
• Experience in creating graphics for retail, print, and digital.
• Your portfolio shows inspiring work that demonstrates systems thinking, a rational design process, and production expertise across various formats. 
• You understand various marketing channels and their technical constraints. 
• You can interpret and employ existing brand guidelines to develop new creative assets in a digital landscape. 
• Excellent communication, research, creative thinking, and idea-generation skills. 
• Proficiency in information design, visual hierarchy, page layout, typography, 2D design principles, and color theory, and conversant in print production; experience with a dynamic medium, such as video editing or motion graphics, is a plus. 
• Skilled in Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Suite. (Desirable) 
• Skills in Figma, After Effects, and HTML5. 
• Ability to work in an unstructured environment, navigate ambiguity, and bring clarity and structure as you go. 
• Willing to learn and demonstrate a high level of commitment and reliability. Organized and with good planning and project management skills.
• Passion for sustainability and environmental issues. 
• Self-starter with an ability to work autonomously as well as within a team.
• High attention to detail.
