Junior Python Engineer

Join our Technology Team where you will have the opportunity to work with the Macquarie Asset Management supporting applications within central functions. We are building scalable global platforms using modern and cloud native technologies to enable the business to grow as a data driven and tech enabled organisation.

What role will you play?

As a Junior Python Engineer, you will continue learning and support various aspects of Software development and maintenance. You will be part of a team who primarily focused on back-end development using Python.

You will gain exposure to architecture, development, testing, observability and collaborate with Senior Engineers to develop new features or platform enhancements to improve the experience and reliability of our Technology Platforms.

What You Offer

• Familiarity with Python for back-end software development
• Relevant computer science or programming tertiary education
• Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Data Structures
• Some previous experience may be valuable, such an internship or volunteering
• Good communication skills, problem-solving ability and a drive to keep learning
• Our core technology stack includes, but is not limited to Python back-end, Angular or React for the front-end, AWS, Linux/Unix environment, SQL, Jira/Confluence and Git/Bitbucket.
