Research Assistant

The Peregrine Centre is seeking a Research Assistant for 8 hours per week on a fixed-term contract until October, 2026. Additional hours will sometimes be available as required by projects.

The successful applicant will work across various research projects but definitely be an important part of the Rural Mental Health Partnership team, which aims to improve rural mental health practice in NSW through training and research.

This is a casual position but will require 8 hours most weeks. Hours of work are flexible and can be negotiated. The position is based at the Innovation Campus of UOW with some local travel (eg: to Nowra and surrounds) required occasionally. Working from home when possible is supported and a work mobile phone will be supplied.

Pay rate: $50 per hour plus superannuation.

Essential Criteria

• Honours degree in psychology or equivalent. The position would suit someone undertaking their post-graduate studies.
• Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to engage a wide range of people.
• Competency with digital technologies, including Word, Excel and SPSS.
• Demonstrated advanced skills in organisation and time-management.
• Strong initiative and ability to work unsupervised, while asking for help when needed.
• Demonstrated reliability and commitment to the full length of the contract.
• Willingness to work within scope of practice and with ethical integrity. Willingness to abide by the Code of Conduct and support a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  
  

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

• Experience in conducting interviews and working with qualitative research.
• Previous experience in qantitative research methods
• Own fully insured motor vehicle and unrestricted drivers licence.
