Recent expansions into flexible payment options and new services strengthen its role as a leader in the UK's digital banking sector.

Project overview

The project focuses on automating the client’s manual customer interaction processes using AI-driven solutions and advanced automation tools. By streamlining tasks that currently require significant manual effort, our client aims to enhance operational efficiency, reduce workloads, and improve the overall customer experience. This initiative centers on implementing AI-powered and other automated solutions to deliver faster, more accurate service, ultimately boosting efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services using Kotlin
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of microservices architecture
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Optimize performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Write clean, maintainable code with a focus on best practices
  • Conduct code reviews and write unit and integration tests
  • Utilize Git for version control and team collaboration
  • Engage in continuous learning and improvement within an agile development environment

Requirements

  • 2+ years of software development experience with a focus on backend development
  • Experience with Kotlin in a professional environment
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and best practices
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies, including unit and integration testing (experience with Kotest or JUnit is a plus)
  • Experience with Kotlin frameworks such as Ktor and Coroutines
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
  • Proficiency in Git for version control
  • Experience with build tools like Gradle or Maven (Gradle preferred)
  • Basic understanding of containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong command of English in both oral and written communication (minimum B2 level)
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and contribute effectively

Nice to have

  • Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka
  • Basic knowledge of Python for scripting or automation tasks
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as AWS Connect or Amazon SQS
  • Exposure to Salesforce
  • Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, and Slack
  • Background in financial/banking services
