IT Project Manager (Risk/Fraud/Payments)

Require Strong banking experience with experience focused in Risk or Fraud Control or Payments.

About the Role - The incumbent is primarily responsible for coordinating and monitoring ongoing projects within the IT Division and ensuring that these projects are on schedule as per the project plan. The incumbent will also prioritize and reschedule the projects given the available resources and criticality of user requirements in coordination with the Central PMP and IT Project Management Office.

1. Educational Qualifications: • University degree in Computer Science with specialization in Application Development from a recognized university. Professional Certification such as PMP is preferable.

2. Experience: • About 7-10 years of related experience of which a minimum of 2-3 years should be in a similar position / responsibility, preferably in a similar Industry.

Responsibilities -

• Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop and review full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
• Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Monitor and schedule projects as per the resource availability and business requirements.
• Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
• Prepare the project lifecycle standards and assign to each project the phases required depending on the size of each project.
• Prepare the project initiation reports, project closure reports and all other requisite reports on a timely basis.
• Understand system architecture and limitations in deciding on methods of problem solving which may impact project as a whole and time to deliver.
• Identify areas for professional development of self and act to enhance professional development.
• Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
• Minimize risk exposure by managing the scope and mitigating risk across projects.
• Maintain relations with the project recipient, all other related departments and units and effectively and efficiently communicate progress reporting and project evaluation so as to achieve the Bank’s goals/ objectives.
• Manage vendors by contractual obligations on both ends.
• Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
• Coordinate between various departments within IT to ensure the progress of the ongoing projects.
• Implement engagement review and quality assurance procedures in accordance with the Bank’s methodology to ensure profitable and successful execution of the project as measured by set goals and customer satisfaction.
• Stay abreast of advances in information technology.
• Possess a thorough understanding of the Bank’s IT related service offerings, technical preferences, and technical direction.
• Serve as key participant in team and client meetings.
• Provide staff contingency policies and guidelines to ensure lowest impact as a result of staff absence or departure.
• Handle difficult project employees situations directly, using appropriate discretion, and in coordination with the Human Resources function.
• Ensure protection and security of project information from any unauthorized access within the overall security policy of the Bank.
• Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and vendors and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
• Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.
• Provide timely and accurate information to the external and internal auditors and the Compliance function as and when required.

People Management (10%) -

• Allocate work to employees, nominate for training as per QIB’s guidelines, conduct performance reviews and manage leave and overtime to ensure efficiency.
• Supervise direct reportees in their day-to-day tasks and guide them in managing their performance by providing appropriate feedback and counseling.
