Team mission

Paid Search is part of the Growth department and responsible for the development, maintenance, and technical vision of the core technical systems to build our Paid Search Marketing machine at scale. We aim to be at the cutting edge of advertising technologies and partner with business stakeholders to develop impactful features to connect customers with the most relevant tours and activities in our inventory. We have touch points across the business and aim to solve problems at scale with big data systems that manage 100s of millions of entries.

You Will:

• Work in a cross-functional mission team with engineers, designers and analysts
• Help to enable your mission team to iterate fast and learn about our customers by designing, launching and iterating on A/B experiments
• Maintain high quality standards and continuously improve our code base, systems and processes
• Design and develop efficient solutions that can continue to scale
• Mentor other team members and be involved with hiring
• Contribute to the team’s roadmap and long term strategy
• Review ongoing Performance Marketing efforts, identify opportunities and explore new areas
  
  

Who You Are

• 3+ years of software development experience
• Proficient in backend engineering, coding and best practices
• Experience with Scala or Java
• Experience with the architecture and deployment of complex systems
• Ability to turn ideas into fast, reliable and maintainable code
• Solid understanding of SQL including complex queries and optimization
• Positive, proactive team player who is passionate about their craft
• Customer-centric prioritization and data driven decision making
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Who You Are:

• 3+ years of software development experience
• Expertise in web application development using component based frameworks
• High proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: TypeScript, Java
• Experience designing architecture and deployment of web applications & services
• Experience with writing tests
• Ability to turn ideas into fast, reliable and maintainable code
• Positive, proactive team player who is passionate about their craft
• Customer-centric prioritization and data-driven decision making
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  
  

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with large scale data processing using Apache Spark & Airflow
• Experience developing projects in a Docker microservice architecture
• Experience using advertising APIs (Google Adwords, Facebook, etc.)
• Prior experience in startup environments and an Agile mindset
