Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced UX/UI Designer & Researcher to join the Design Chapter in Wholesale Bank Advanced Analytics (WBAA) Tribe. In this role, you will bridge the gap between user research and UI design, working in the early phases of product development. Your focus will be to identify opportunities, play a crucial role during the discovery efforts and validate assumptions through POCs, and design user-friendly interfaces that align with the bank's goals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, researchers, developers, and business stakeholders, to bring concepts to life in an iterative, research-driven process. You will have the opportunity to discover the most impactful (Gen)AI opportunities for WB.

Key Responsibilities
- Discovery & Research: Lead user research efforts, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to identify pain points, opportunities, and areas for innovation within ING’s opportunity spaces.
- Opportunity Mapping: Work closely with stakeholders to map out opportunity areas, validate ideas through discovery workshops, and align design and research findings with business goals.
- Prototyping & UI Design: Create high-fidelity prototypes and UI designs in Figma to communicate design concepts, testing ideas through quick iterations to validate assumptions.
- Collaboration & Ideation: Partner with developers, product managers, and business analysts to brainstorm, conceptualize, and validate new ideas. Ensure designs are feasible, scalable, and aligned with the product strategy.
- Data-Driven Design: Leverage data, analytics, and user feedback to inform your design decisions, ensuring each iteration is based on real-world insights.
- Documentation & Communication: Document research findings, user journeys, personas, and design systems to facilitate clear communication of concepts to stakeholders and ensure consistency across designs.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay on top of industry trends, design tools, and research methods to push the boundaries of innovation in user experience and design.

Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in UX/UI design, with a focus on research and user-centered design.
- Expertise in Figma for UI design and prototyping, with a keen eye for detail and consistency.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work closely with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in conducting user research, usability testing, and translating insights into actionable design improvements.
- Familiarity with design thinking and iterative development processes, with the ability to apply these methodologies in a discovery context.
- Ability to analyze data and metrics to inform design decisions and validate assumptions.
- A portfolio demonstrating your ability to create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces, and your research process.
- Open to feedback, eager to learn, and passionate about driving innovation in product design.
- Experience with visual design, typography, copywriting, or illustration.
- Familiarity with AI initiatives and their application in financial services.
- A strong understanding of business analysis and product strategy.
