What The Role Is

ISD confronts and addresses threats to Singapore’s internal security and stability. For over 70 years, ISD and its predecessor organisations have played a central role in countering threats such as those posed by foreign subversive elements, spies, racial and religious extremists, and terrorists. What You Will Be Working On

  • Engage various business clients to understand their needs and identify opportunities to value-add, translating these into analytics requirements and recommending solutions.
  • Advise business clients in designing databases to manage information.
  • Assist in making strategic data-driven decisions by analysing, manipulating, and reporting data.
  • Use data visualisation software to create dashboards that enable clients to derive business intelligence.
  • Work with data science and analytics teams to create and implement data strategies, design data pipelines, and develop machine learning models and data products.
  • Gather user feedback, and assist clients with troubleshooting and management of commercial analytics products.
  • Keep abreast of business developments and advancements in the analytics field so as to propose the best solution.


What We Are Looking For

  • Applicants with no experience may apply
  • The most important qualities are intellectual curiosity, dynamism and the ability to both work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passionate about using analytics to add value to the organisation.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills. Able to connect with people and understand their needs.
  • Familiarity with database design, data exploration, data manipulation and data storytelling.
  • Experience in data visualisation software (e.g. Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense, etc).
  • Knowledge in any of the following would be a bonus:
  • Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Programming languages (e.g. Python, R)
  • Data manipulation and visualisation libraries/ packages (e.g. pandas, dplyr, matplotlib, seaborn, ggplot)
  • Machine Learning/ Deep Learning techniques
  • Optimisation theory
  • Big data systems and data architecture
