• A SOC Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents within an organization.
• The role is crucial for maintaining the security posture of the organization by detecting threats, analyzing vulnerabilities, and ensuring quick response to incidents to minimize risks. Responsibilities:
• Continuously monitor security alerts from various sources such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security tools.
• Investigate and respond to potential security incidents, escalating issues when necessary.
• Analyze and correlate security events to identify trends, potential vulnerabilities, and attack patterns.
• Provide support in incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery from security incidents. Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 1-3 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT roles, with exposure to security operations and incident management.
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) are a plus.
• Familiarity with security tools, techniques, and best practices. Technical Skills:
