Security Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Security Operations Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and safeguarding our critical servers and systems, ensuring the security and integrity of our IT infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in identifying, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, as well as contributing to the continuous improvement of our security processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Security Monitoring:
• Monitor the security of our critical servers and systems.
• Monitor alarms generated by our security systems and take appropriate action, including setting priorities and escalating issues when necessary.
• Incident Response:
• Analyze security alarms to determine the root cause based on your knowledge of attack techniques.
• Dive into log files of servers and systems to investigate incidents.
• Test and fine-tune security alarms and incident response procedures.
• Document the context of incidents and provide additional analyses to colleagues resolving the incidents.
• Ensure incidents are handled according to the right priorities, guided by our runbook.
• Close, put on hold, re-evaluate, or escalate incidents based on the action taken.

Technical Skills:

• Broad knowledge of IT operating systems and middleware (Windows, Unix, Linux, databases) and networks.
• General to good knowledge of malware types and cyber-attack techniques (the kill chain).
• Experience with security tools for detecting and analyzing security events.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems.
• Knowledge of network security, firewalls, and IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems)
