Engineering Manager - Hands-on coding

Stelfox is exclusively partnering with a SaaS Technology provider who is entering Dublin for the first time to establish a new presence in Ireland and hire out both a Technology, Sales and Support function.

This new team will be focused on creating new features for core real-time / event-driven platform for the end-to-end ordering and delivery services across B2B Hospitality sector (Restaurants, Hotel, Takeaways etc).

As one of the first hires, we are looking to recruit a hands-on Engineering Manager / Engineering Lead (effectively become the Software Manager) to design and architecture various web & mobile services plus recruit and manage an initial team of 4-5 engineers when working on end-to-end development work from PoC through to into production.

This team will be supported and have access to a strong engineering hub in Chennai, while they focus on developing new features and services across the existing product suite.

This team will work across a technology stack consisting of Web (ES6+, Typescript, Node.js, React), Mobile (React Native, Flutter) and running on AWS infrastructure.

Preferably you will have:

• 8-10+ years commercial experience across software engineering, from design/architecture through to deployment of services.
• Strong background in either Nodejs, Typescript, ES6+ / Javascript and AWS or React Native / Mobile architecture.
• Strong coding standards and approach to best practice
• Strong REST API / API integration experience
• Ability & interest to lead / manage a small engineering team and be the focal point for the team during code reviews, 1-2-1's as the role become the defacto Manager/leader for the team.

Preferred experience:

• Cross Platform Development - Flutter, Kotlin, ioS
• Backend development - Node.js and Express for building scalable server-side applications.
• Architecture knowledge - understanding of micro-frontend architecture
• GraphQL & gRPC - exposure to integrating with GraphQL & gRPC
