Senior Java Developer – Riga, Latvia (Hybrid, 2 Days/Week)

As we expand our technical team in Riga, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer who’s confident building cloud-native applications at scale and eager to make a tangible impact in a rapidly evolving sector.

This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days a week onsite in our centrally located Riga office. The rest of the time, you work where you work best.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and building robust, high-performance backend systems in Java (Spring Boot)
• Developing and maintaining microservices deployed to Kubernetes
• Building scalable infrastructure on AWS Cloud, with a focus on reliability and observability
• Working closely with architects and fellow developers to deliver clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Supporting the integration of AI-driven features into backend services (in collaboration with our AI/ML team)
• Participating in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions to help shape a modern mobility platform

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience in production environments
• Deep knowledge of Spring Boot, REST APIs, and event-driven systems
• Proven experience deploying applications on AWS Cloud using services like ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc.
• Solid experience working with Kubernetes in a production setting
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps workflows
• Experience with system observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) is beneficial
• Comfortable collaborating in cross-functional teams with a mix of remote and in-person members
