Job Description

• Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Work with outside data sources and APIs
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team discussions on architecture and best practices
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Android development trends and technologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of professional experience in Android app development
• Strong proficiency in Java and Kotlin programming languages
• In-depth knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
• Strong understanding of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
• Ability to design applications around Material Design principles
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git
• Knowledge of the Android app publishing process on Google Play Store
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
