BDO Norge
Norway · Full-time · Entry

Who are we?

BDO is a fast-growing audit and consulting firm with over 2,000 employees. We aim to make a positive impact for our clients, society, and each other. We strive to contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and with our 40,000 clients, we both can and want to make an impact. At Business Analytics in Oslo, we’re a young and fast-growing department with high ambitions. We help clients across industries unlock value through data. Working with us, you'll be part of a technically strong environment focused on modern cloud-based analytics and AI solutions. As advisors, we collaborate closely with clients to design scalable data platforms and to turn data into insight.

What makes this position so exciting?

As a Data Engineer at BDO, you'll play a key role in helping organizations make smarter decisions through data. Because data engineering sits at the intersection of tech and business, you'll collaborate with people from different backgrounds, helping bridge technical solutions and real-world needs. Whether you're building a real-time data flow or designing a secure data platform, you'll have a hand in shaping how organizations use data to grow and innovate.

You'll be part of an experienced, multidisciplinary team that values continuous learning and encourages initiative. Working directly with clients across various industries, you'll gain early responsibility and enjoy a diverse range of challenges, fostering both technical and professional growth.

In this role you will:

  • Design and build data pipelines using Python, SQL and DBT.
  • Work with diverse data sources from APIs, cloud systems and on-prem databases.
  • Develop and manage data platforms with tools like Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Snowflake.
  • Set up cloud infrastructure, covering storage, networking, and access control.
  • Prepare and structure data for reporting, dashboard and advanced analytics.
  • Collaborate closely with analysts and business consultants to deliver real business value.
  • Contribute to innovative solutions including AI and LLM powered tools in client projects.

What can we offer you?

We asked our colleagues what they think is the best part of working at BDO:

  • A genuinely great work environment. We believe great work starts with a great environment. At BDO, people care about each other. You’ll find a culture where collaboration, curiosity, and humor are part of daily life. Our Business Analytics team hosts monthly social events, and we take part in larger office-wide gatherings throughout the year. You can also join initiatives like Frisk i BDO, which promotes health and wellbeing, or internal networks focused on innovation and creativity.
  • No two days are the same. You'll work with a mix of small and large clients, giving you exposure to different industries and business challenges. Some days you'll collaborate closely with colleagues across disciplines, and other days you'll take ownership of your own deliveries. Either way, you can expect a dynamic and varied workday.
  • Flexibility. We believe you are the best person to manage your own workday and decide where you work from. We facilitate this as a hybrid workplace with flexible hours.
  • Development opportunities. We want you to succeed and achieve your goals. That’s why we offer mentorship programs, continuing education opportunities, close managerial follow-up, and a clear promotion process.
  • Great benefits. We offer shorter working hours from June to August, along with favorable pension and insurance schemes.

Who are you?

You have a degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field—either at the bachelor's or master's level. Whether you’re a recent graduate or have up to two years of experience, you’re curious, analytical, and excited about what data and AI can make possible.

You’ve built a solid foundation in Python and are comfortable working with APIs, GIT, writing performant code, and apply best practices in software development. You’re also interested in cloud-based data platforms and have a solid understanding of how data can be structured and processed for analysis and reporting.

It’s a plus if you’re familiar with concepts like lakehouse architecture, data modeling, or networking. Above all, you are proactive, curious, and always eager to learn. You are motivated by both professional and personal development, and you thrive in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

You should also be able to commute to the office in Oslo

If you are unsure whether you meet all the requirements, we still encourage you to apply —we value diverse backgrounds and believe the right mindset is just as important as experience.
