Organization Unit Purpose

WB Business Analytics enables business/support units to gain analytical insights on financial data, customer behavior, and market trends via analytical techniques, statistical methods, and data visualization tools. The candidate will assist the Manager, Business Analytics to help business make informed decisions, optimize processes, and identify opportunities for growth or improvement based on data-driven insights and ultimately contribute to the bank's strategic decision-making in the dynamic landscape of Wholesale Banking.


Job Purpose

The MIS/BA plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. This position involves understanding the business requirements, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets, extracting data, and creating excel reports that provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. The role holder will gather and analyze data sets and relevant information from various sources working with business stakeholders as well as data analysts, data scientists, data engineers to identify actionable business insights.


Job Content

  • Requirements Gathering: Work with the business, operations and support teams in WB and SME. Also engaging with other teams that consume client data
  • Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful business insights using SAS/SQL.
  • Reporting: Design and develop excel reports to communicate key performance indicators and trends to stakeholders.
  • Data Accuracy: Work closely with the Data and BI teams to ensure data is sourced from the correct data platform.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of reports to ensure accuracy, reliability, and adherence to business requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of requirements and business rules.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users to ensure effective utilization of systems and reports.


Specifications

  • Bachelors/ Master’s Degree in Information Management, Computer Science & Engineering, or equivalent degree from an accredited academic institution
  • Understanding in Data & Information Management domain and required tools & technologies
  • 3-4 years of experience in providing MIS/BA solutions
  • Good to have Banking domain knowledge in UAE/Middle East
  • Outstanding analytical skills with attention to detail. Tenacity to identify the root cause of problems is essential.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical language for stakeholders.
  • Robust knowledge of data, systems and analytical tools like SAS/SQL and Excel., Proven ability to quickly learn new systems and data environments.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is an added advantage (not mandatory)
  • Collaborative team player with strong stakeholder management skills, who can think creatively and strategically while building cross-functional and cross-divisional relationships and excellent communication skills.
  • Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP) (optional)
  • SAS certification (optional)
  • Familiarity with Core Banking Systems/CRM /Loan Management Systems preferred
  • Structured thinker, able presenter, self-driven, result and detail oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on driving new initiatives and establishing impact and credibility.
  • Strong drive to implement solutions in the most efficient manner, working with business partners throughout the organization to - assist in solution development and implementation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – able to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to work effectively with multi-functional team and build good working relationship with stakeholder groups
