What We Need
We are currently looking for an experienced Laravel Engineer that can provide 20-30 hours per week of development support for two high-profile clients:
- Client 1: a powerhouse global brand in the sports retail industry;
- Client 2: an industry leader in self-storage property investments
The Project Timeline
We hope to select this contractor by May 2nd, 2025. The following is a rough timeline of the rest of the project engagement:
- May: Project onboarding and initial tasks (:20 hours/week)
- June: Near full-time project contribution (:20-25 hrs/week)
- July - August: Full-time project contribution (:30-35 hrs/week)
- September: Contract reevaluation

Requirements
As our Contract Laravel Engineer, you will work through our client's backlog of bugs, feature requests, and technical debt.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Update or add functionality to their open-source Laravel CMS
- Update or add functionality to backend APIs to handle complex user interactions
- Estimate and execute software version upgrades for PHP and Laravel
- Implement front-end performance improvements intended to increase the speed and user experience of the site
- Implement SEO best practices to improve the site's search ranking
- Improve the accessibility of the site
- Resolve bugs as they come in from the client
- Work with the project manager and site reliability engineer to resolve outages, security issues, and other incidents in a timely manner
- Laravel and PHP
- React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Next.js
- CSS and styling frameworks, such as Tailwind
- Terraform, API gateways, Cloudfront, Lambda, and other AWS/serverless infrastructure tools
- GitHub Actions
- Docker
The ideal contractor is comfortable working remotely within 1-2 hours of EST timezone. South and Latin American contractors are highly encouraged to apply.
This is a remote, short-term contract position. The ideal candidate will be available for periodic meetings during EST business hours.
Benefits
Our ideal contractor has an hourly rate of $55.00 - $65.00 USD.
We address monthly or bi-weekly invoices within 10 business days.
