As a member of a growing team you will have a mandate to take part in all stages of the web development life cycle. You will have the opportunity to develop on some the world’s most highly trafficked websites.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop new user-facing features
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use adhering to best practices
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of proposed UI/UX designs
  • Be highly responsive to critical production issues providing timely and effective solutions
  • Optimize code for maximum speed and scalability
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

Must Haves

What you'll need to be successful:

  • DEC or Bachelor’s in computer science OR relevant work experience
  • 2+ years of professional web development experience
  • Proficient in Vanilla JavaScript, React and best practices
  • Good understanding of ECMAScript 5 and ECMAScript 6
  • Good understanding of cross-browser and legacy compatibility issues and ways to work around such issues
  • Good understanding of Git
  • Good understanding of object-oriented coding practices, including design patterns knowledge, clean code
  • Excellent understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3, including Less.css
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) including the ability to distill technical details into human terms

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the PHP scripting language would be an asset
  • Knowledge of browser rendering behavior and performance
  • Knowledge of Node.js and build tools (Gulp, Webpack)
  • Familiarity with the Vue.js ecosystem
  • Understanding of server-side rendering and its benefits and use cases
