PHP Engineer - Remote

Job Title: PHP Engineer - Remote                          Department: IDX Broker

Reports to: Director of Engineering                         FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and motivated PHP Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and maintaining robust, scalable web applications and services. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that support our business objectives and enhance the user experience. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong technical expertise in PHP and cloud infrastructure, capable of owning tasks from concept to deployment in a fast paced, agile environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Work with stakeholders to understand initiatives and implement features
• Write well-designed, testable, readable, and scalable code following clean code principles and team standards
• Take ownership of tasks and drive them through to completion
• Contribute to software deployment and track product progress throughout its lifecycle
• Collaborate with other internal teams to ensure alignment and smooth delivery
• Participate in discussions and brainstorming sessions to generate high quality ideas
• Share knowledge proactively and continuously improve engineering practices

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong technical expertise and full-stack programming skills with a focus in PHP
• Proficiency with SQL databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud
• Passion for engineering best practices like continuous delivery and automated testing
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms (e.g., JSON Web Token)
• Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Proficiency with Git

Nice To Haves:

●     Familiarity with GKE or Kubernetes

●     Experience with Terraform and Docker

●     Elasticsearch experience

●     Experience with Vue.js

●     Familiarity with Agile methodologies

●     Experience using Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence

●     Experience in the real estate industry or with MLS data

Education and Experience:

·      Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field

·      Five or more years of development experience, or equivalent demonstrated skills and experience

Physical Requirements:

●     Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

●     Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
