Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Bid Writer to prepare competitive and compelling proposals for ground handling, cargo, lounges, and plane fueling services tendered by airports. The successful candidate will play a key role in securing new business opportunities and retaining existing contracts by developing detailed, persuasive bid responses that highlight our strengths and capabilities.

Main responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret tender documents for ground handling, cargo, lounges, and into plane fueling services.
• Create clear, concise, and compelling bid proposals tailored to the specific needs of each airport or authority.
• Work closely with internal departments, including operations, finance, legal, and commercial teams, to gather necessary information for bids.
• Ensure all bid submissions comply with regulatory, operational, and tender-specific requirements.
• Manage timelines and multiple tender projects simultaneously to meet tight submission deadlines.
• Review and edit content to ensure consistency, accuracy, and a high standard of quality across all bids.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of bid documents, templates, and past submissions for continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in bid writing, preferably in aviation, ground handling, cargo, lounges, or into-plane fueling services.
• Strong knowledge of airport operations and the regulatory environment.
• Excellent written communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.

Good to have:

• Experience working within the aviation or ground handling sectors, especially in cargo, lounge management, or plane fueling.
• Familiarity with airport authorities' procurement and tender processes.

They should be an experienced manager, able to motivate and inspire others; able to obtain a high level of work from the team to ensure all deadlines are met efficiently and that the bid is of the highest quality possible.

Excellent communications skills are a must, both verbal and written – the importance of being able to converse and liaise with all bid contributors is key and being able to ‘speak their language’ is vital to get the most from everyone, ensuring the bid is as good as it possibly can be.
