WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As the Engineering Manager – Discovery at Nextory you will lead the work of developing the most vital parts of the user experience: to serve all our users content they will love at the right time, and in a delightful way.

You will be leading an amazing team of software engineers; iOS, Android and Java backend – always with the continuous aspiration to increase reading! You will collaborate closely with product- and engineering leaders across the company to understand the needs of the users and figure out the best way to solve them.

The position is based in Stockholm and you will report to the CTO.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

🟣 We believe you have, for the field, relevant educational background

🟣 We believe you have around 10+ years of working experience, and around 5 years from working as a manager

🟣 We believe that you have hands-on experience from working with as a software developer

🟣 We believe you have experience using AI-assisted coding and coaching teams to adopt that workflow

🟣 We believe you have experience from cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

🟣 We believe you have solid understanding of DevOps practices such as CI/CD, observability, and that is your preferred way of working

🟣 We believe you have experience from both relational and NoSQL databases

🟣 We believe that you have experience from working with distributed teams and that it is part of your daily work to drive change and strive for improvement

🟣 Experience in streaming services is a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND IMPORTANT DETAILS

At Nextory, we believe a strong and inclusive culture is key to our success - and that culture flourishes when we meet and collaborate in person as much as possible. That’s why we spend the majority of the working time at our beautiful office!

We are based in Stockholm, Sweden, with offices in Paris and Bangalore. Our hybrid work policy includes four days in the office and Wednesdays as a work-from-home day.

Please note that we do not offer relocation and that a six-month probationary period applies.
