General Summary

Job Overview

As a software engineer at QCT, you will develop system level software that is used across a wide range of chipset products. The prospective candidate will work on hypervisor and related systems software for cutting edge multi-core, multi-threaded ASIC platforms. The software the candidate will develop interfaces large software stacks requiring interaction with many teams, the candidate must be self-motivated and a problem solver with good communication skills.

Skills/experience

• 2+ years experience in C
• Good OS and computer architecture knowledge
• Linux kernel, OS (libc etc) and or multi-core RTOS development
• Demonstrated understanding of kernel internals (scheduling, concurrency and synchronization, memory management, IPC)
• Hardware interfacing, including device drivers and CPU architecture features
• Experience with toolchains, debuggers and assembly language
• Strong debugging experience in kernel / OS environment
• ARM / RISC microprocessor architecture experience
• Version control such as Git and Perforce, and issue tracking systems such as Jira
• Experience with scripting languages Shell, Python, etc.
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated independent software design, good analytic and problem solving skills
• Automotive and functional safety experience will be a bonus
• Understanding and development work done in Hypervisor and/or IOMMU/SMMU will be a bonus
  
  
  

Responsibilities

• Full cycle software development of kernel and system level software for QCT mobile chipsets
• o Software design, implementation a integration of new features
• o Technical documentation including API development
• Triage of software issues, defect investigation and problem resolution
• o Collaborate with other teams in identifying and resolving issues

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field
  
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  
  
  

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
