Senior Back-end Software Engineer

Background

We are seeking a Senior Back-end Software Engineer to help develop and maintain robust, cloud-based services for a mission-critical platform used daily by professional operators and technical teams. You will be part of an autonomous, cross-functional team dedicated to building reliable, modern software solutions that power essential business operations.

Your Role

• Analyze complex problems, coordinate with stakeholders, propose solution designs, incorporate feedback from reviews, and deliver features, tests, and deployment steps.
• Proactively ensure the resilience and stability of the platform.
• Participate in the support team to address customer requests and incident reports.
• Work efficiently in an asynchronous, mostly remote team environment.
• Provide realistic estimates for software development tasks and communicate progress or changes clearly to the team.
• Review designs and code from other team members, reduce complexity, and foster continuous learning.
• Create and maintain technical documentation (requirements specifications, detailed designs, test cases, traceability, architecture documentation).
• Advocate for best back-end development practices within the company and with our customers.

Your Profile

• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• MSc in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience working on large and complex codebases.
• Strong experience writing clean, simple, and tested code in a statically typed language.
• Good knowledge of relational databases.
• Used to contributing code via small Pull Requests.
• Eager to learn about new technical domains and business challenges.
• Experience using Docker and/or Kubernetes or similar container orchestration technology.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Curious, up-to-date with technological trends, and self-motivated to learn.
• Comfortable working asynchronously with distributed teammates.

Bonus Skills

• At least 3 years of experience with Go.
• Experience working in cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform or Azure).
• Proven track record delivering mission-critical software.
• Experience with gRPC, websockets, protobuf.
• Familiarity with end-to-end testing frameworks.
• Experience with the Kubernetes stack (Kubernetes, Helm, Istio, Prometheus).
• Experience with Postgres and Redis.
• Contributions to and maintenance of open-source software.
• Experience mentoring other developers.
• Ability to debug remote applications.
• Fluent in written and spoken French.
