Role Overview:

We are working with a prestigious macro trading firm based in London, seeking a skilled Network and Cloud Engineer to join their team. The role is a balanced blend of 80% network engineering and 20% cloud architecture. You’ll be pivotal in maintaining and optimizing the firm’s advanced network infrastructure, while also contributing to their cloud strategy. The ideal candidate will be highly experienced with Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco, and Azure, and will thrive in a fast-paced financial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain high-performance, secure network solutions using Juniper, Palo Alto, and Cisco technologies.
• Lead network troubleshooting, ensuring minimal downtime for critical trading systems.
• Collaborate with the IT team to implement network upgrades and expansions.
• Manage cloud infrastructure, with a focus on Microsoft Azure, to support scalability and business continuity.
• Ensure robust network security, performing risk assessments and deploying firewalls and other security solutions.
• Monitor network performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
• Work closely with traders and stakeholders to understand network requirements and ensure seamless operations.
• Document processes and configurations for audit and reference purposes.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Strong hands-on experience with Juniper, Palo Alto, and Cisco networking technologies.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services, particularly in hybrid cloud environments.
• Proven track record in network design, configuration, and troubleshooting within a high-availability environment.
• Knowledge of network security best practices and experience in managing firewalls, VPNs, and other security tools.
• Financial industry experience, particularly in trading environments, is highly desirable but not essential.
• Excellent communication skills, able to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
