Senior Network Engineer – F5 & Cisco

Location: Hybrid (Netherlands, 1–2 days on-site)

Our client, a global leader in the financial sector, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in F5 technologies and Cisco networking to support and enhance their enterprise data center infrastructure. This is a fully on-prem environment, and the role plays a key part in the data center network operations team.

The position requires a deep understanding of F5 BIG-IP modules — specifically LTM, APM, ASM, AFM, and DNS — along with a solid background in Cisco routing and switching. This is a hands-on role combining operational support with high-level design responsibilities, focused on stability, performance, and security across a global network.

What You'll Do:

• Provide comprehensive support across L1, L2, and L3 within the data center network environment
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to ensure high availability and performance
• Design, configure, and maintain F5 BIG-IP modules (LTM, APM, ASM, AFM, DNS)
• Manage Cisco routing and switching, network changes, patches, and upgrades
• Lead incident response and operational excellence across the data center infrastructure
• Collaborate with global teams to drive network improvements and maintain high security standards

What You Bring:

• 4+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in enterprise environments
• Proven hands-on expertise in F5 BIG-IP modules: LTM, APM, ASM, AFM, and DNS
• Strong Cisco networking experience in routing, switching, and incident management
• Comfortable working in operational and design-focused roles within data centers
• Certifications such as CCNP or CCIE are a bonus, but hands-on experience takes priority
• A team-oriented mindset with clear communication and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
