Summary:

Leads engineering and IT teams, overseeing technology and infrastructure projects within the courier and logistics sector, to ensure strategic alignment with business goals. Drives integration of ERP and logistics software, ensures quality control, manages budgets, and enhances delivery speed and cost-efficiency through innovative, robust tech solutions. Acts as a key point of contact for technology-related matters, fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring cybersecurity initiatives protect operational systems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of engineers focused on the courier and logistics sector, providing guidance and mentorship tailored to enhancing IT project outcomes.
• Oversee the development and execution of IT projects, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines and budget constraints.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align technology infrastructure and project objectives with business goals in the logistics and supply chain domains.
• Ensure quality assurance and testing processes are implemented and continuously improved to uphold project standards.
• Facilitate cross-functional communication between engineering, operations, and other departments to enhance project efficiency and alignment.
• Identify and address skill development needs within the engineering team to improve technical proficiency in logistics and IT management.
• Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring resource allocation supports both current operational needs and future business growth.
• Implement and advocate best practices for software development and IT project delivery, integrating new technologies where beneficial.
• Evaluate and integrate internal and external ERP and logistics software, focusing on applications like TMS and WMS to enhance operational tools.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, driven by emerging trends in the logistics and technology sectors.
• Monitor and report on comprehensive project progress, including performance metrics aligned with logistics industry standards.
• Drive recruitment and hiring efforts to build a high-performing technology team, adept in managing logistics IT systems.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations in engineering practices, maintaining the integrity of cybersecurity initiatives.
• Act as the main point of contact for technology-related negotiations and client communications, ensuring optimal contract agreements and project alignment.

Typical Background/Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in management or leadership roles
• Previously held roles such as 'Sr. Engineering Manager', 'Technical Lead', or 'Senior Software Engineer'
• Experience in industries such as logistics, e-commerce, or supply chain where technology supports business operations and growth
• Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing engineering teams, specifically within the logistics or supply chain sector
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile/Scrum
• Experience with budgeting, strategic planning, and resource allocation for engineering projects in logistics settings
• Proficiency in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration, particularly with operations and external business clients
• Experience with IT project management and technology strategy execution, including infrastructure and application oversight
• Familiarity and experience with ERP, TMS, WMS, and cybersecurity initiatives in a logistics context
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is a MUST; Master’s degree or PMP certification is a PLUS

Education Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Optional: Master's degree in Engineering Management or Business Administration (MBA) or PMP certification is a PLUS.
• Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) is a MUST.
• Certification in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master certification).
• Industry experience in Logistics, E-Commerce, Retail Chains, Distribution, or Supply Chain domains is a MUST.
• Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices is a MUST.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
